The purpose of the study: to develop ways for improving of vehicular engines fuel economy and environmental performance by development of fuel supply and control systems and conventional and alternative fuels rational use. The first section presents the research results of the system efficiency that provides the production of hydrogen-containing gas using a thermoelectric generator and adding this gas to the air charge of a spark-ignition engine. The experimental studies results of gasoline composition impact in fuel-air mixture of the engine with carburetor fuel system and method to determine the appropriate size of the carburetor main fuel nozzle are presented. The second section presents the experimental studies results of the vehicle using external heat sources to reduce the engine after-start heating period at low ambient temperature. The research results of the thermoelectric system use that allows providing the battery optimal temperature while car keeping at low ambient temperature. This creates the necessary conditions to improve the engine cold start. The third section presents scientific works analysis over the past ten years in the direction of creating in Ukraine the gas internal combustion engines powered by natural gas, biogas or similar low-calorie fuels. The research results of application the model gas in the gas internal combustion engine to power the electric plant are generalized. The recommendations of biogas addition to natural gas depending on power plant load for creation of gas fuel supply control algorithm are developed.
