popup.description2
Objects of investigations are silicon and zirconium nitrides, composite powder of the Si3N4 – ZrN and Si3N4 – ZrN(ZrС) systems, dense ceramics of composite powder, elements of a ceramic ball bearing.
The aim of the work is to develop composite materials based on silicon nitride ceramics and obtain ceramic products, in particular bearings, with an extended service life from them by the spark-plasma sintering (SPS) method.
A manufacturing technology that provides high properties of the new Si3N4 – ZrN composite material consolidated by the spark-plasma sintering and increases its reliability and service life due to the manifestation of the effects of self-healing of defects was developed.
Elements of a bearing with an increased service life under extreme operating conditions and under the action of corrosive media (gaseous and liquid) and abrasives at high temperature and loads were manufactured from the composite material based on Si3N4.
A technological instruction for the powder of the Si3N4 ZrN composite material and technology regulations for the manufacture of elements of a ceramic bearing were developed. An application for a patent of Ukraine on the manufacturing method of a silicon nitride zirconium nitride composite powder was made.
The results of the research work are promising for the commercialization of the manufacturing technology of the wear-resistant ceramics operating in aggressive media at increased temperatures, in particular ceramic bearings.
