A number of kaolin / CeO2 nanocomposites with a decorator content of 2.76% –7.37% and a nanocrystallite size according to SEM data of 5.6–10.4 nm were synthesized by the templateless method by precipitation from aqueous solutions at room temperature. From the UV spectra of diffuse reflection, the ratio IUVSCe4 + / IUVSCe3 + was determined as a measure of the surface defect of CeO2 nanocrystallites. According to the kinetic data, the Kaf calculation determined the catalytic enzyme-like activity of nanocomposites in the model reaction of H2O2 decomposition in the pH range 8.5–10.5. A decrease in the activity of nanocomposites with a decrease in their defect (Ce3 + content) and an increase in the size of nanocrystallites was found. The activation energy of the hydrogen peroxide decomposition reaction at pH 10 in the temperature range 20–40 C was studied. A decrease in the activation energy with a decrease in the defect of nanocrystallites, an increase in the content of the decorator and the size of its particles has been established.
