It is established that grape viruses, namely short-knot virus and leaf twisting, negatively affect the growth and development of grape plants of different grape varieties. The effect on chlorophyll accumulation in leaves, yield and its quality was studied. As a result of the conducted researches it is established that in the leaf with weak symptoms of phytoplasmic disease of the Chardonnay variety the content of chlorophyll A is 2.8 times less than in the leaf of the same tier in healthy bushes. It was found that in the leaves of the upper tier of diseased bushes, where the symptoms are clearly absent, the content of chlorophyll A is less than in the leaves of the same tier of healthy bushes. A similar pattern was observed for the content of chlorophyll B. Due to the decrease in photosynthetic activity and the decrease of chlorophyll in the leaves of diseased plants, the sugar content decreases. Analysis of the quality of the grape harvest from healthy and virus-infected twisting bushes showed that the sugar content in the berries of diseased bushes is much lower than in healthy plants. Metabolic disorders, which occur under the influence of grape viruses, are the reason for less provision of ripe shoots with carbohydrates. It is established that the productivity of plants infected with the pathogen of crown gall and phytoplasmas decreases sharply, growth decreases, and in some cases the development of the disease leads to the death of the bush. Tumor development causes malnutrition of plant organs, shortens life expectancy and resistance to adverse environmental factors. Wine made from such grapes contains less alcohol, less color, low in tannins, weakly aromatized, with high acidity.
