It is established that the traditional system of education does not fully meet modern requirements, as it focuses on knowledge, not paying enough attention to the study of personality development of students and teachers of higher education institutions, which are especially important in the context of European integration.
Conceptual provisions and methodical bases of professional development of the personality of the teacher and students of higher education institutions are developed. Criteria and indicators of personality development in its pedagogical aspect are determined.
The possibilities of the competence approach to the professional development of the personality are determined and a number of aspects of the creative methodical activity of the teacher are singled out taking into account the potential of the creative personality in the conditions of using the integrative approach in education.
The position on the development of the spiritual culture of the teacher as a means of harmonization of personality and the possibility of developing motivation for professional self-realization by means of activating the image of a successful specialist is substantiated.
