The purpose of this work is to establish the patterns of functioning of aquatic ecosystems of different types based on the study of biotic flows of matter and energy.
The role of various biotic components in the functioning of aquatic systems is determined. The main flows of matter and energy in the aquatic ecosystems of the Dnieper-Bug estuary are analyzed and quantified. Based on the established patterns of structural organization and study of the peculiarities of the functioning of different populations, groups and individual components of aquatic ecosystems developed recommendations for economical use, environmental optimization of water and fisheries in the Dnieper-Bug region.
