The object of the project – Natural narrowband electromagnetic fields and signals in the near-Earth plasma environment.
The purpose of the project – The use of natural narrowband oscillations and fields in near-Earth space to diagnose the properties of the structures that generate them and to identify sources of excitation.
Results and scientific novelty – Narrowband fields oscillations in near-Earth space are used to diagnose the properties of the structures that generate them and to identify sources of excitation. Round-the-clock long-term observations of resonant near-Earth structures in different regions of the planet have made it possible to reproduce the diurnal, seasonal, and interannual properties of processes in such systems and the sources of their excitation. In addition, resonant effects in the plasma environment of Jupiter have been studied.
Methods and equipment – A new multi-position network of coherent ELF and HF receivers in the Arctic, Antarctic and Ukraine and techniques for recording, processing and analyzing data obtained using this network.
