The study object is the educational process at the institution of higher technical education. The subject of the research is the humanitarian component of professional training of future specialists at institutions of higher technical education. The urgency of the issue is due to a significant change in the requirements as to the quality of humanitarian training of future specialists at technical universities in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area. The aim of the scientific research which contains the sociological study is to determine the main directions of the teachers’ complex work on the formation of humanitarian training of a competitive specialist in the context of modern demands of the employment market. The experiment is based on a hypothesis that to form graduates’ educational motivation to learn disciplines of the humanities is the essential condition of the professional training of competitive specialists in the context of modern demands of the employment market. The scientific novelty: through the sociological study there is a reasonable assumption that formation of graduates’ educational motivation to learn humanities, based on the reproduction of future professional activities, will contribute to the formation of a promising model of personality of a technical specialist. Effectiveness: strengthening the humanitarian component in general culture of technical students’ thinking; providing the unity of education, upbringing and personal development; creation of an adapted educational environment and appropriate conditions for the growth of professional skills, moral and spiritual development of the future specialist. The research results should be introduced into educational process and proposed for testing in institutions of higher technical education.
