The study of the past of the peoples of the East on the basis of material and written monuments in Oriental languages, research and publication of these monuments, scientific description of Oriental artifacts and manuscripts, publication of their catalogs and research are the main components of classical Oriental studies. The study of oriental collections in the library and museum collections of Ukraine as a whole is of great importance for the development of science. There has long been an urgent need to create qualified catalogs of manuscripts, ancient prints in Oriental languages and descriptions of material cultural monuments stored in these funds. The richness of collections of oriental manuscripts and old prints will allow to present the whole range of descriptions: thematic catalogs, descriptions of collections, short and annotated catalogs, catalogs of documents, etc.
