Methodological approaches have been developed and specific methods have been elaborated for the transition of the water monitoring system to European principles, which are being introduced in Ukraine.
Concrete results are given to determine the risk to faile a "good" ecological state by surface water bodies. The calculation of the background concentrations of physicochemical elements was carried out, the SWAT model was adjusted to simulate the emission of nutrients within river basins in the forest zone. The Manual on processing the time-series of hydrochemical observation data was prepared.
