The methodical approach to estimating electricity generation cost based on various renewable energy technologies has been improved. The price range of bidding for green electricity within the mechanism of green auctions is substantiated. The minimum payback periods of renewable energy projects have been determined. The minimum rate of the feed-in tariff and its variations for renewable energy technologies for business entities for new green energy facilities that are not subject to green auctions and new solar and wind generating capacities of households are substantiated. The methodology for determining the best option of the feed-in tariff, based on assessing the divergence/convergence of the feed-in tariffs, the actual cost of electricity generation from renewable energy sources, the choice of the feed-in tariff variations, and the term of state support for new energy capacities in the business sector and private households is improved. Approaches to the transformation of the state energy policy mechanisms in the context of the energy complex transition to a new competitive model and ensuring the sustainable renewable energy development have been developed. Approaches to estimating the cost of electricity generation from fossil and nuclear fuels considering the costs of decommissioning have been improved
