A literature review of the development and usage of sacrificial anode alloys based on aluminium and other elements has been performed. Technological phase diagrams for secondary aluminium, for AP-4 alloy with minimal and maximal allowable impurity content, as well as for the AP-4 with Fe, Si, Mg and Cu excess have been calculated. The corrosion properties of steel 3 and sacrificial anodes made of AP-4 alloy with Fe and Ca additives have been studied in model seawater. It is revealed that the steel without sacrificial anodes corrodes an order of magnitude stronger in comparison with the steel protected by these anodes.
