The phenomenon of “communicative and information space”, as an integral phenomenon of modern society, which combines both positive and negative aspects has been systematically analyzed in domestic psychology for the first time.Scientific novelty in this context are the following results: manipulative technologies and instruments of the information society are substantiated; the content of the concept of “information society”, in the format of which the key role is given to the concept of “information”, is considered; attention is focused on the permanent increasing of its flows and doubts about its comprehension, understanding and practical application, as well as ambiguity in terms of development and self-realization of the individual; the necessity to use both psychological defense mechanisms and co¬ping strategies in the situation, related to COVID-19 disease and its danger to humanity in order to maintain the stability of the individual's psyche is emphasized; the application of an integrated approach to save human’s mental / psychological health through the prism of the practical possibilities of psychology through its most effective directions of activity, taking into account the principle of individualization is proposed.
