The object of research - methods, strategies and technologies for the formation of language and communicative competence in the process of activity-oriented learning of a foreign language. The purpose of the research is to create a scientifically substantiated and experimentally tested method of using modern interactive technologies in the process of professionally-oriented study of a foreign language at non-philological faculties. The analysis of dynamic processes that take place in the modern scientific and methodological discourse on the development of foreign language communication skills is closely related to the development of the authentic exercises aimed at improving such components of communicative competence as culturological and sociolinguistic. The study and generalization of the experience of foreign language teachers (attendance and analysis of classes, testing, surveys), pedagogical observation is an important component of the research project. The results of the research will be used in the educational process at higher education institutions, in scientific research and in writing textbooks.
