The purpose of the work is to study modern linguodidactic features of teaching the Ukrainian language in a medical institution of higher education and to identify the most effective approaches in the formation of language competence of domestic and foreign students. Research methods: methods of theoretical and empirical research: synthesis, analysis, abstraction and concretization; analogies and modeling; quantitative and qualitative (scientometrics, bibliometrics, informatics); system analysis; questionnaires, testing, observation, generalization, method of deduction and induction. The novelty of the work lies in a holistic systematic analysis of language didactic approaches in the teaching of the Ukrainian language in a professional direction for domestic students and the Ukrainian language as a foreign language.
