Complex morphological-anatomical and resource investigation was taken of the 63 species of medicinal plants from 12 genera (Achillea, Artemisia, Bidens, Crataegus, Equisetum, Hypericum, Persicaria, Petasites, Plantago, Thymus, Tussilago, Viola), the main diagnostic macro- and micromorphological features related species of medicinal plants of Ukraine are determinated, which allow to identify and distinguish plant raw materials of medicinal plant species, including included in the appendices of the State Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine, from raw materials of related species, analyzed the distribution, ecological and coenotic peculiarities, clarified the content of biologically active compounds, their action and use in Ukraine and the world, determined resource significance and territorial differentiation, categorized resources for each species in Ukraine
