Purpose: As a result of the work, an identification model of the electric traction system will be developed, which takes into account the stochastic nature of electric traction voltages and currents and which will allow to analyze emergency modes in the SET at the development stage. Research methods: the theory of power supply of electrified railways, the theory of impulse processes and methods of their analysis, methods of system identification, methods of solving integral equations, Laplace operator operator method of calculating transients. The paper presents the types and characteristics of emergency modes observed in electric transport systems. A critical analysis of existing methods for calculating transient electromagnetic processes is performed. It is offered to carry out the analysis of emergency modes on the basis of identification methods. The simulation computer simulation of the short-circuit mode in the traction network in the presence of electric rolling stock is carried out in detail. Studies of the short-circuit mode in the power circuits of the electric locomotive DE 1. The modes of internal and external short-circuits are considered. It is established that the existing type of high-speed switch of the electric locomotive does not meet the necessary conditions for protection of power circuits from the throws of traction currents in the electric locomotive.
