It is established that the effectiveness of training future specialists in special and inclusive education largely depends on its competence orientation. We substantiated the ways of realization of competence-oriented professional training of future specialists of special and inclusive education in the conditions of modern university: taking into account the positive world experience of realization of competence training in education of future special teachers; determining the principles and conditions for the implementation of the competence approach in the training of future teachers of special and inclusive education; monitoring the system of general and special professional competencies of a special teacher in the conditions of modern institutions of special and inclusive education; determination of criteria and levels of formation of general and special professional competencies of future special teachers; development of a model of competency-oriented professional training of future teachers of special and inclusive education; development of methodological recommendations for the implementation of competency-oriented professional training of future specialists in special and inclusive education in a modern university.
