Experimental studies of the ratcheting effect of tubular structural elements that simulate cyclic modes of operation of pipelines and their plastic deformation have been performed. An experimental study of the load bearing capacity of the bellows compensator for gas pipelines to assess the efficiency, durability and confirmation of its passport characteristics. The tests were performed under complex load under constant internal pressure up to 5.4 MPa and cyclic loading with axial force up to 120 kN. The energy of the deformation jump process is studied and it is shown that most of the potential elastic energy of the system is converted into deformation work, which is converted mainly into thermal energy, while the part of energy spent on deformation of newly formed surface and kinetic energy is small. Microstructural research and mechanical tests of the metal of the pipeline from two sections with welds of the damaged and undamaged part of the pipe of the reforming installation with a water-containing environment of high parameters were carried out. It was found that hydrogen corrosion of the flange metal from steel 20, which was manifested by decarburization, occurs in an environment with a hydrogen content at a temperature of more than 280 C. The modes of loading and loading parameters of model samples of the wheel-rail system for researches on contact fatigue without rolling are substantiated. Test tests on these samples were carried out, followed by their microstructural studies and measurement of the electrical resistance of the rail sample at different levels of cyclic operating time.
