The study of the life of the people who have not yet been appreciated to the extent they deserve is an objective need of the time, which requires unbiased coverage of their contribution to national culture and education. The cohort of such personalities includes Ivan Babych – a lecturer, cultural and educational figure, a member of the Writers’ Union of Ukraine, whose creative work in the field of translation ensured the presence of Ukraine in the French-speaking space.
I. Babych’s literary translations enriched the treasury of national culture and gained a recognition abroad, actualizing a comprehensive consideration of the artist’s personality and Ivan Babych’s interaction with the world of Ukrainian culture, expressing the integrity of his literary efforts in harmony with teaching.
The periods of his life, the originality of his creative heritage, as well as I. Babych’s personal contacts with Ukrainian cultural figures are identified and characterized, the memorable discourse about I. Babych is analyzed.
