The subject of research is the methods and means of automatic search for terrain objects and given target objects according to data from aircraft cameras and determining their coordinates in real time to make decisions about the flight program directly on board the aircraft in automatic mode. The goal of the project is to develop a new information technology for aircraft navigation through an optical channel and to create, on its basis, the corresponding software and hardware for an experimental model of a reconnaissance automated unmanned aerial system that recognizes terrain elements and determines the coordinates of aircraft and ground objects. The developed information technology includes: preliminary processing of terrain images, their scaling, search and description of special points that describe landmark objects, a method for determining the position of an aircraft using terrain photo data, determining the coordinates of objects in the camera field of view, overlaying images on a digital map. On the basis of the proposed information technology, experimental samples were created for its practical flight testing, a test methodology, appropriate software and hardware were developed, and an analysis of the test results was carried out, on the basis of which conclusions and specific recommendations were formulated.
