The purpose of the work is determination of the influence of double heat treatment on phase-structural modification and wear resistance of gray cast iron surface; study of spectral-optical characteristics of ultrafine ZnS-Ag particles. Research methods: photo-luminescent analysis, optical and electron microscopy, energy dispersion spectroscopy, microhardness measurements, electrical measurements, tribological tests. The microstructure and phase-structural composition of gray cast iron after double heat treatment are described, its wear resistance in untreated and treated state is determined. Luminescence spectra for ultrafine ZnS-Ag crystals for samples obtained by different physical methods are presented.
