Description

 A comparative analysis of the indicators of neurospecific markers in umbilical cord blood and in the blood of newborns with hypoxic-ischemic lesions of the central nervous system showed that a highly specific marker of fetal brain damage is an increase in the level of neuron-specific enolase (NSE) (norm 16.3 ng/ml) to 126.6 ng /ml and protein S 100 (norm 0.105 μg/l) up to 6.9 μg/ml in umbilical cord blood, which can be used as a prognostic test. Measures to prevent antenatal and intranatal hypoxia of the fetus include timely diagnosis of intrauterine infection of the fetus in case of preeclampsia, placental dysfunction and fetal distress, timely delivery, rational management of childbirth. Neuroprotection of pregnant women with magnesium sulfate during childbirth up to 32 weeks contributed to a decrease in the frequency of asphyxia of newborns and long-term neurological complications in 92.8% of children, which indicates the effectiveness of this measure
