A similar effect was observed by the constant oral administration of metformin to mice receiving standard compound feed. Combination of metformin and a low-carbohydrate diet led to a pronounced synergistic effect, halving the volume of the tumor (to 500 mm3), which steadily decreased over time, and already on the 60th day after inoculation of melanoma in mice, tumors were practically not detected. A decrease in tumor-induced leukocytosis, normalization of the number of neutrophils and lymphocytes in the peripheral blood of animals to the level of healthy mice were also observed. This indicates clinical remission in all experimental animals without any exception under use of this metabolomic cancer therapy regimen.
