Object of research: leadership qualities of education workers. The subject of the study: the development of leadership qualities of scientific and pedagogical staff and heads of educational institutions in the conditions of reforming the field of education. The purpose of the work is to theoretically substantiate and empirically investigate the peculiarities of the development of leadership qualities of employees in the conditions of education reform; to develop and test tools for assessment and development of leadership qualities of scientific and pedagogical staff and heads of educational institutions. Research methods are theoretical (analysis, synthesis, modeling, systematization, generalization); empirical (observation, standardized questionnaires, document analysis, literature analysis, psychological-pedagogical experiment, method of expert evaluations, psychological tests, functional-level diagnostics, express sociometry, methods of studying interpersonal relations); methods of mathematical statistics.
