Subbotin name popup.description2 Dynamic models of geomedia are analyzed, taking into account internal processes. Effect of increasing nonlinearity in layered media is justified. Two solutions for interaction of solitons with close amplitudes are compared. Peculiarity of ambiguous solutions during the soliton interaction is analyzed. It is noted that the phase shift during the soliton interaction can serve as an indicator of the existence of non-significant solutions in the experiment. To study the process of shear deformation of a heterogeneous medium in the region of faults, a model is proposed that takes into account the significant fragmentation of the material. A computer code was developed for calculating two-dimensional dynamics of massif of rectangular elements. Calculations of shear deformation of discrete massifs in the form of layers limited by movable walls with Gaussian and hierarchical distributions of discrete elements by size were carried out. Temporal evolution of system’s micro-parameters was analyzed: the coordination number, the orientation parameter, and the correlation functions of the two velocity components. Forced oscillations of a rectangular plate containing non-linear oscillating inclusions uniformly distributed in a supporting elastic medium were studied. Using Galerkin approach, the initial equations of motion of a rectangular plate were reduced to the ODE system, which was studied using methods of numerical and qualitative analysis. The system has periodic, quasi-periodic and chaotic solutions. Experimental studies of influence of the shape and size of the grains on the statistical properties of shear processes have been carried out. Shape and size affect only the magnitude of intergranular forces. Taking into account the statistical similarity of shear deformation and the deformation of the medium in seismically active zones, the research results indicate the possibility of the influence of a weak load on the non-equilibrium structured medium in these zones.
