The purpose of the study is to develop a method for automatically searching for reference objects on the target surface, given by its three-dimensional CAD model. When performing the study, the following tools were used: numerical methods, image processing, clustering and computer modelling. As a result of the work, a general method was obtained for determining the reference objects of the surface of an uncoordinated spacecraft, which are most reliably determined from images. The result obtained can be applied by enterprises of the space industry of Ukraine, research and educational institutions of the National Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
