The object of research is domestic violence as a social problem. The subject of the research is the psychological aspects of modern trends in the prevention of domestic violence. Research methods are chosen based on the defined goals and tasks, taking into account its object and subject. To solve the tasks, a research program was developed, the implementation of which involved the use of a complex of general scientific methods: analysis and generalization of scientific psychological literature and the legal framework on the research problem, synthesis of the obtained information, content analysis. Obtained results: methodical recommendations dedicated to the search and development of modern psychological methods and means of preventing domestic violence have been prepared. The text presents the types and manifestations of domestic violence, examines its causes, varieties, signs and consequences, and methods of detecting cases of violence. The powers of state structures, institutions and organizations that provide assistance to victims of domestic violence, the forms and methods of providing such assistance, measures to prevent violence and the formation of non-violent behavior patterns among children and youth are given.
