The purpose of the study is to investigate the peculiarities of the psychophysical state of people of different ages and sexes in order to justify innovative approaches to the introduction of health and recreational technologies in the physical education of various population groups. The ascertaining stage of the pedagogical experiment was conducted to determine the psychophysical state of various population groups based on indicators of physical development, functional state, physical fitness, somatic health. The theoretical and practical significance of the scientific research work consists in the generalization and dissemination of scientific information about the peculiarities of taking into account the indicators of physical and psycho-emotional state when planning and organizing physical culture and health work with various population groups using modern means of physical education of the health direction.
