The object of research is the process of forming students' professional and value orientations. The subject of research - theoretical and methodological principles of formation of students' professional and value orientations to work in modern socio-economic conditions. Research methods: theoretical: study, analysis and generalization of philosophical, pedagogical and psychological literature; methods of comparative analysis, interpretation and generalization of facts; empirical: generalization of pedagogical experience, pedagogical experiment, diagnostic methods; statistical: methods of mathematical statistics; monitoring the implementation of research results. The main results of the generalization-implementation stage: a number of factors that negatively affect the effectiveness of the formation of students' professional and value orientations to labor activity were revealed.
