The purpose of the work: application of the principles of molecular design to obtain metal-containing complexes with given optical, thermochromic, magnetic and catalytic properties, followed by correlations between the structure, supramolecular structure and physicochemical properties. Research methods: magnetochemical measurements, X-ray structural analysis, X-ray diffractometry, 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, elemental analysis, calorimetry, optical microscopy. New tridentate ligands based on N-heterocyclic compounds were synthesized to obtain complexes with iron(II), which are capable of exhibiting a spin transition between high-spin and low-spin states with significant hysteresis at room temperature. New iron-containing complexes with a spin transition based on cyanoborohydride and pyrazine were obtained.
