The object of research in the scientific research work is the system of technical maintenance of locomotives and the system of service maintenance of locomotives. The purpose of the work is the development of new and improvement of existing approaches to the organization of technical maintenance and the organization of the operation of the locomotive industry in the conditions of the transition to the system of service maintenance of locomotives. Achieving the set goal is carried out through the analysis and comparison of existing approaches to the organization of technical maintenance of locomotives.
The main methods of conducting research are methods of mathematical and simulation modeling, statistical analysis.
The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the improvement of approaches to the management of the locomotive fleet due to the reduction of the idle time of locomotives while waiting for M&R works. Reducing the downtime of locomotives while waiting for maintenance and repair will lead to an increase in the efficiency of the use of locomotives.
The practical significance of the work consists in determining the influence of the performance indicators and reliability of locomotives on the organization of the work of the locomotive repair depot. In further research, the developed model can be used to improve the system of organizing repairs on the road network when introducing new series of locomotives and changing their maintenance strategy.
