The results of the system analysis made it possible to determine three possible scenarios for overcoming the energy crisis, which involves 1) maximizing the differentiation of the supply of fossil energy resources to replace Russian energy resources, 2) partial differentiation of the supply of fossil energy resources and maximization of the use of available (including conserved) energy resources, including "dirty" types of fuel to meet urgent energy needs; 3) maximizing the use of renewable energy to replace imported fossil energy resources with the simultaneous adoption of short-term measures aimed at diversifying the supply of natural gas, oil, and petroleum products. For each scenario, the feasibility of its implementation was analyzed in the context of achieving the goals of climate policy and the transition to a carbon-neutral economy. A seasonal ARIMA model was used for medium-term forecasting of the impact of the state of the energy sector on the achievement of climate policy goals in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. The determination and analysis of energy consumption patterns during the COVID-19 pandemic in the context of an economic recession made it possible to identify those of them that have a long-term nature and change approaches to the formation of the energy network from the standpoint of its autonomy and sustainability. As a result, drivers of energy innovation intensification have been identified to spread successful practices, scale energy innovation, and meet the growing need of the energy sector for necessary technological upgrades
