The purpose of the work is to determine the most promising directions for improving the environmental safety of the processes of natural, drinking and wastewater purification from toxicants of organic and inorganic nature and microbiological objects. Research methods: spectrophotometric, atomic absorption and photometric analysis; catalytic combustion, methods of counting colonies of microorganisms. Key results: A significantly higher efficiency of photochemical (H2O2/UV) and photocatalytic destruction of humic acids in water in the presence of Fe3+ ions (photo-Fenton process) compared to the dark catalytic process (Fe3+/H2O2) was established. A modification of the laboratory installation with a pulsed bubbling device for compatible plasma-chemical and UV treatment of water has been developed. An increase in the efficiency of oxidation of organic compounds with such treatment was shown up to 82.6-90.9% according to COD, and up to 91-96% according to the light transmission coefficient of natural water. A composition was selected for the manufacture of an environmentally safe microfilter for the preparation of drinking water. In the process of treating Dnieper water with the specified microfilter, the content of total iron, turbidity and color are reduced, respectively, by 65-84%, 85-87% and 57-67%, reaching the MАC for drinking water. For the first time, the synergistic effect of low-pressure CO2 (0.2MPa) and high-molecular chitosan with a degree of deacetylation of 95% (1mg/dm3) in the process of natural water disinfection was established. The possibility of complete inactivation of C.albicans in natural hydrocarbonate water with the combined effect of ecologically safe "green" disinfection reagents is shown.
