The purpose of the study is to analyze the linguistic aspects of foreign language teaching and to reveal the theoretical and methodological foundations of the formation of foreign language communicative competence in future philologists. Research methods: analysis and synthesis - for generalizing theoretical considerations; descriptive - for interpreting linguistic phenomena; experimental and theoretical - for identifying and describing prosodic means of influence in the speech of German political figures, as well as for establishing phonetic differences in the oral speech of men and women (native speakers of German) at the segmental level. As a result of the research on the topic of GDR, the evaluative function of conceptual metaphors in journalistic discourse is determined. Prosodic means of influence in the speech of German political figures are identified and described. Five types of topical division of a political speech are distinguished, which include different presentation of known and new information by a politician. The differences in the oral speech of representatives of the opposite sexes at the phonetic level are studied, and the main factors causing these differences are described. The correlation between the modification of the segmental level of the German language and the realization of prosodic means is determined. It has been found that the phenomenon of German vocalism is inherent to a greater extent in male spontaneous German speech. It has been proved that an effective method of teaching a foreign language is the use of isographic visualization in the educational process for the formation of communicative competence of students learning foreign languages. The educational potential of nationally labeled vocabulary in the process of forming the linguistic and sociocultural competence of future philologists is investigated.
