Clinical, neurophysiological and immunological features of the development of various forms of myasthenia have been established, depending on the structural changes of the thymus. It was determined that myasthenia in the absence of structural disorders of the thymus debuts before the age of 40, is characterized by a predominant lesion of the skeletal muscles and a milder course. Myasthenia gravis against the background of thymus hyperplasia manifests in women at an earlier age than in men, is characterized by a predominance of local forms, and has a moderately severe course. Myasthenia, in patients with thymomas, makes its debut after 40 years, regardless of gender, as generalized muscle weakness and has a severe course. For the first time, a close relationship between the increase in the EMG indicator of the decrement test and the worsening of the severity of the disease in all studied groups was proven, which indicates the diagnostic and prognostic significance of this EMG indicator.
