The analysis of global acoustic-emission research in the field of nuclear power showed that the application of the AE method at nuclear power facilities allows: to increase the safety of operation of the power plant by identifying potential foci of destruction of structures; reduce the time for inspection and diagnostic examinations of structures and equipment; justify the increase in the utilization factor of the installed capacity of power units due to control and diagnostics of the energy tension of the equipment; increase safety and improve the working conditions of operational and maintenance personnel of the NPP.
