The purpose of the research is to develop the theoretical basis for the creation of new initial forms of sugar beets and the selection of desired genotypes of plants of the species Beta vulgaris L. for breeding for productivity. Research methods are laboratory, field, measuring and weighing, statistical. New recombinant materials of sugar beets were created, selection of desirable plant genotypes was carried out for breeding for productivity. The 12 best in terms of productivity and technological qualities of O-type root crops and their analogues from CМS, 12 combination-capable diploid multi-germ pollinators with an optimal combination of the most significant selection-genetic and economic-value traits were selected. 7 combination-capable CМS lines with a level of pollen sterility of 99–100%, seed monoeciousness of 98–100% were transferred to the BetaIntercross program. Nine high-yielding sugar beet hybrids were created on the basis of CМS with an improved form of the root crop, suitable for energy- and environmentally friendly growing technologies.
