The purpose of the work: to determine the technical condition of the locomotive compressor in operating conditions without removal directly on the locomotive and with removal in the conditions of a locomotive depot or factory. The goal is achieved by improving the existing methods and means of checking, testing and diagnosing cyclic piston machines of the volumetric type. The main methods of conducting research are the methods of mathematical modeling of the operation of a piston compressor on a computer with the help of appropriate software complexes such as Mathcad and comparing the results with experimental indicators. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the improvement of a new method of detecting malfunctions of the connecting rod-piston group and valve boxes of the piston compressor. The main idea of the method is as follows: based on the results of measurements from air mass flow sensors, which are installed before the air enters the cylinders and at the exit from the cylinders, it is possible to conclude about the correct operation of the compressor, since some malfunctions cause a change in the temperature of the working body of the compressor, which in in turn affects the mass performance of the compressor. Technical diagnosis of the connecting rod-piston group of the compressor is also offered based on the number of completed cycles to the given pressure. Practical meaning. The use of the developed software and hardware complex makes it possible to: – to automate the process of technical diagnostics and post-repair tests of locomotive piston compressors; - reduce the time for testing; – to reduce the costs of energy and labor resources for diagnosing and checking the serviceability of the compressor; – perform diagnostics of the compressor without removing it from the locomoti Product Description popup.authors Desiak Andrii Ye.
