Relevant information on the history of many discoveries and outstanding achievements of Nobel Prize laureates, who made a real breakthrough in science in general and had a revolutionary impact on the development of medical and biological sciences, or life sciences, in particular, has been analyzed, organized and structured. A complete picture of the development of modern biochemistry, molecular biology and genetics, genetic engineering and molecular medicine, etc. has been created. Particular attention is paid to the discovery of methods that are widely used in biological and medical practice, in particular: the method of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) - for the diagnosis of infectious, hereditary and many other diseases, the method of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) - to determine various pathological changes in the body, in particular the brain and joints, to detect malignant tumors, etc. Based on the analysis, it was concluded that the influence of the discoveries of the Nobel laureates of the late 20th and early 21st centuries on the development of any field of medical and biological sciences is decisive and quite powerful. The systematized and analyzed results were published in a series of articles in the specialized publication "Ukrainian Biochemical Journal" (13 publications) and as a separate monographic publication: "Leaders of scientific progress: under the Nobel sign".
