The theory of vector control systems design was extended to class of highly saturated electric motors using their improved mathematical models. A novel control guarantees the asymptotic torque (speed)-flux tracking together with dynamic decoupling of the controlled variables and improved robustness properties. It is proved that MPTA optimized control strategy can easily applied in designed system structure. The theory of adaptive control is extended for class of nonlinear plants with the time varying parameters by introducing the conditions of “strong persistency of excitation” together with high gain identification. A new design and analysis of the cascaded DC-DC converter system is proposed in order to construct the two-time scale separation of the battery and ultra capacitor currents with adaptive current derivative limitation.
