The research work is devoted to substantiating the necessary measures to develop and implement strategies for resource conservation and improving environmental safety in industrial and urban areas, as well as analysing possible ways to optimise the interaction between industrial enterprises, urban areas and the natural environment.
- A calculation method for the rapid determination of current emissions from urban boiler houses has been substantiated;
- analysis of air pollution typical for coal mining regions and large cities,
- methodological approaches to the development of a system for monitoring air pollution in agglomerations were improved;
- the expediency of introducing averaging devices in the technology of domestic wastewater treatment was substantiated;
- an improved technology of mine water treatment for the conditions of drainage of an operating coal mining enterprise is proposed;
- the expediency of modernisation of facilities for the treatment of grease-containing wastewater was substantiated;
- developed a resource-saving technology for the integrated processing of highly mineralised mine water from enterprises of the Kryvyi Rih iron ore basin;
- measures were developed to improve the physical and chemical characteristics of the substrate obtained from the coal dump, reducing the concentration of heavy metals in it by selecting the appropriate method of phytoremediation;
- the level of microplastic pollution in the Dnipro River water area was determined and recommendations for its reduction were developed;
- the range of polymeric multilayer composite doy-pack packaging was studied and possible ways of solving the problem of its utilisation were proposed;
- the concept of control and management of metallurgical slag waste based on the relevant specialised GIS was proposed;
- improved technology of coal concentrate extraction from fly ash of thermal power plants.
