The purpose of the work is to investigate the effect of glioblastoma on changes in the frequency and spectrum of chromosome aberrations, indicators of DNA damage and the level of apoptosis in non-irradiated peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients with glioblastoma. Research methods: molecular genetic (comet electrophoresis of individual cells, "Comet assay"); cytogenetic, statistical. The level of genomic instability in peripheral blood lymphocytes of 10 conditionally healthy individuals (control group) and 20 patients with verified glioblastoma (examination group) was compared. The features of the influence of glioblastoma on the development of genomic instability were determined: the levels of cytogenetic (frequency of chromosomal aberrations) and molecular genetic (frequency of DNA damage and apoptotic activity) indicators in peripheral blood lymphocytes of conditionally healthy individuals and patients with glioblastoma were determined. A statistically significant increase in the levels of chromosomal aberrations, DNA damage and the frequency of cells in the state of apoptosis in the culture of peripheral blood lymphocytes in patients with glioblastoma compared to the corresponding indicators of conditionally healthy individuals was established. Thus, as a result of performing the NDR stage, it was established the presence of a tumor-induced witness effect in peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients with verified glioblastoma. Under the influence of transformed tumor cells, there is an increase in genomic instability in witness cells (lymphocytes of peripheral blood). Activation of the apoptosis process is a key mechanism for regulating the development of genomic instability in somatic cells.
