The issues of social and psychological well-being of schoolchildren, parental involvement in the education of their children and mutual understanding in the context of the child's educational achievements, regulation of communication between family and school, and inter-subjective interaction in the family-school system are revealed. On the basis of the established socio-psychological criteria, the features of communication between teachers and parents of students as stakeholders in education are investigated, the level of parental participation in the educational process of their children is determined, the contextual and intrapersonal aspects of the well-being of the children are revealed, the dynamic aspects of the component structure of mutual understanding in the relationship between parents and children regarding the educational process are clarified. The conditions for the growth of the subjectivity of the family as a carrier and exponent of public opinion on education reform are clarified. The areas of communication between participants in the educational process are empirically identified, including educational needs, psychological well-being of the children, personal development, social skills, civic development, safety, and ensuring staying at school. The peculiarities of achieving mutual understanding in parent-child relations, which can be based on a sense of benefit, agreement and mutual environmental friendliness, are considered. The main factors of interaction between the subjects of public opinion in the family-school system are highlighted, such as mutual assistance and freedom of expression, mutual understanding and mutual development, participation in solving common problems, activity-passivity in defending their own opinions.
