ABSTRACT
Report on the GDR: 39 pp., 20 tables, 8 figures, 8 sources.
IRRIGATION, SALINING, CORN, SOUTH OF UKRAINE, DRIP IRRIGATION, SALT COMPOSITION, IRRIGATION METHODS
The purpose of the research is to investigate the influence of irrigation methods on the salinity regime of the soils of Southern Ukraine and the productivity of agricultural crops.
The average content of toxic salts in irrigation before sowing - 0.071%, after harvesting - 0.076%; on surface drip irrigation, respectively 0.059% and 0.069%; and on subsoil drip irrigation – 0.070% and 0.074%. The total content of soluble salts in the soil was distributed according to the options as follows: during irrigation before sowing - 0.102%, after harvesting - 0.115%; on surface drip irrigation, respectively 0.107% and 0.117%; and on subsoil drip irrigation – 0.106% and 0.116%.
For the 2021 - 2022 research years, the average corn yield on surface drip irrigation was 14.27 t/ha, which is 5.31 t/ha more than on sprinkler irrigation, where it was 8.96 t/ha. On subsoil drip irrigation, this indicator was equal to 14.46 t/ha, which is 5.5 t/ha more than on sprinkling. In 2023, the yield of corn on surface drip irrigation was equal to 13.4 t/ha, and was 5.24 t/ha higher compared to sprinkler irrigation, where this indicator was 8.16 t/ha. Sesame yield in 2021 on different drip irrigation systems was practically the same and was in the range of 0.95-0.98 t/ha. On sprinkling, this indicator was equal to 0.78 t/ha, which is approximately 0.18 t/ha lower than the average yield on drip irrigation. Data for 2021-2022 show that the level of profitability on surface drip irrigation was 2.5 times higher than on sprinkler irrigation, and 1.1 times lower than on subsoil drip irrigation. Calculations carried out in 2023 showed that the level of profitability increased 2.6 times from 75.8% to 195.7%. Production costs were reduced from UAH 20,098/ha to UAH 19,362/ha.
