The purpose of research is to study historical and cultural processes in specific forms and spatio-temporal dimensions, the nature, structure and changes in cultural and social systems, the activities of institutions, organizations, and individuals who have influenced them; the study of the specific traditions, ideas, views, moods, practices, stereotypes of thinking inherent in certain communities that have significantly influenced all cultural, historical and social life, as well as the study of the most important cultural and historical processes in the world and their interconnection with the Ukrainian culture and history.

The results of the research: the acquired theoretical and methodological principles of cultural studies made it possible to carry out field and desk research on an ongoing basis, which in turn were manifested in the following results: replenished the scientific base with artifacts and other data, which makes it possible to clarify the cultural and chronological specification of monuments; laid the foundation for mapping the ethnographic mosaic of Transcarpathia, deepened the study of the border and adjacent territories; the study of military medieval culture allowed to clarify the controversial moments of the genesis of Western European chivalry, knightly combat practices and technologies, as well as the functioning of the tournament tradition among the military elites of the Medieval West; the study of the nobility and titled nobility determined their roles and places in the socio-political, cultural and spiritual processes of the region of Central and Eastern Europe; the results are closely related to current discussions about the place of Ukrainian culture in the European and world cultural context, contributes to a paradigm shift in the study of cultural relations between peoples, liberation from outdated clichés with an emphasis on the personal factor; study of the confessional diversity of the region, which contributes to the formation of religious tolerance in society.
