popup.description1
Determining the influence of the body condition of pregnant sows on indicators of reproductive qualities (multifertility, weight of the nest at weaning) and establishing a relationship with the subsequent productivity of the young at fattening (average daily gain, age at which live weight reaches 100 kg, feed consumption)
popup.description2
The object of the study was purebred Poltava meat breed animals. Research methods: the assessment of reproductive, fattening and meat qualities of animals was carried out by zootechnical methods. Data processing was carried out using statistical methods. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of body condition of gestating sows on reproductive traits (fertility, number of piglets at weaning, nest weight at weaning) and to establish the relationship with the subsequent productivity of young animals in fattening (average daily gain, age at 100 kg live weight, feed consumption). As a result of the research, the influence of sow body condition on their reproductive qualities was established; the relationship between the type of sow body condition and fattening and meat qualities of offspring was determined; methodological recommendations for determining and using the assessment of sows by their condition were developed.
