The purpose of the work is to increase the effectiveness of the use of personal respiratory protection equipment for self-rescue during fires in buildings, which are defined by the Fire Safety Rules in Ukraine. Research methods – theoretical and experimental means of researching the time of evacuation from buildings, which, according to the Fire Safety Rules, must be equipped with means of individual respiratory protection for self-rescue.In order to safely evacuate people from objects with a mass presence of people for which, according to regulations, self-rescuers must be used, calculations of the actual evacuation time of personnel and visitors were carried out.
