The purpose of the work is to develop methodological recommendations for researching the authenticity of digital images based on artificial intelligence methods.
Research methods are general scientific and separate (digital analysis of image components by methods of information theory, mathematical statistics, signal theory and spectral analysis, methods of artificial intelligence) and special methods of forensic examination.
Theoretical and practical results - the development of methodological recommendations for the study of digital photo images and the assessment of the authenticity of images by the integrated use of ELA, PCA and noise extraction methods with the generalization of results based on artificial neural network models. A software product has been developed that will allow researching digital images during expert research and examinations.
Novelty - for the first time, a software product (information technology) was developed to detect signs of image montage based on the integrated use of image pre-processing methods (filtering methods) and artificial intelligence.
Effectiveness of implementation – the obtained results will be implemented during photo-technical research, video- and sound-recording research and/or their complex research, namely, when conducting technical research of digital images (and video) and during the training of specialists in the following specialties: 6.1 "Research of photographic images and technical means of their production", 7.1 "Technical research of materials and means of video and sound recording", which will allow to solve the issue of determining signs of montage or other interference in the image as fully as possible.
