The analysis is based on the application of the dynamic criterion of stability, taking into account the non-linearity and heterogeneity of the pre-critical state and the mutual influence of the specified loads. Regions of stability of shells of positive, negative and sign-changing curvature at different combinations of distributed pressure and contour forces-moments are constructed. Applying the equation of the model, which is based on the hypothesis of a straight line, a solution to the problem of the bending of a cylindrical shell with beveled sections is obtained. The resulting two-dimensional boundary value problem is reduced to a one-dimensional one using spline approximation. The one-dimensional problem is solved by the method of discrete orthogonalization. The obtained results are compared with solutions based on classical theory. Shells at different values of the angles of sections were studied. In the spatial formulation, a numerical analysis of the stress state of non-thin cylindrical elliptical shells under various types of loading was carried out based on the method of approximation of functions by discrete Fourier series. Two cases of boundary conditions on the ends are considered - a simple bearing and a flat end and the type of applied external load - distributed longitudinal load and under the action of tangential stresses, according to the boundary conditions. The results of the numerical analysis are presented in the form of graphs and tables of the distribution of characteristics of the stress-strain state of the considered shells, and the characteristic regularities of this distribution are revealed.
